Ryan Kavanaugh was founder and CEO of Relativity Media, which deals with various areas of culture, including film and television financing; development and distribution; music publishing; sports management and new technology. Relativity produced, provided or organized financing for over 200 motion pictures raising more than $17 billion in worldwide box office sales and winning 60 nominations for Oscar. Kavanaugh was named Showman of the Year by Variety in 2011.

Kavanaugh acted as the board president for The Art of Elysium, an organisation that allows artists to devote their energy and resources to children who are dealing with serious health conditions. He is a winner of the Hollywood Humanitarian Award from the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center Board of Directors, and the 2011 Film Business Prize from the Anti-Defamation League. Kavanaugh has been honored with the Sheriff’s Youth Foundation Neighborhood Leader Award in appreciation of his commitment to supporting inner-city children.

Jack Kavanaugh, Ryan’s dad, was allegedly fluent in nine languages, was able to bench-press 565 pounds, and had an IQ of 180. Originally called Jack Konitz, the son of survivors of the Holocaust, as an adult he modified his surname to Kavanaugh and Ryan and his siblings were born with this surname. In 2010 Kavanaugh was placed on the list of “40 Under 40 Most Influential Persons in Industry” by Fortune Magazine. His ability at structuring acquisitions has also been shown at his role on a big contract with Marvel Comics as well as other successful slate transactions.
